Currently, The Canadian Salt Company has an opening for an experienced Mine Superintendent to work from the Ojibway Mine facility based in Windsor, Ontario. In operation since 1955, the Ojibway Mine has a stable production of salt and produces an annual average more of than 2.5 million tonnes of salt. The mine employs a total of 240 employees including administration, safety, accounting, human resources, engineering and the production/maintenance crew.
In this key leadership role reporting to the Mine Manager, you will oversee an experienced and professional team as well as play an integral part in the leadership team for the facility that includes the Mill Superintendent, Engineering Superintendent and Maintenance Superintendent. The leadership team will be responsible for influencing the development strategy, efficiency and longevity of the mine. This will be accomplished through the measurement and analysis of equipment for efficiency, product quality and maximizing the recovery of mineral resources.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you must have a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering and a Professional Engineering Designation. A minimum of 10 years of relevant and progressive experience is essential, as is experience successfully managing a team.
