Execution Engineer
Be Part of a Global Firm Committed to a Sustainable World Execution Engineer - Alberta, Canada MAIN FUNCTIONS - Responsible for planning and executing the work related to the assigned scope.
- Monitoring progress, ensuring appropriate reviews are conducted, managing change and preparing all contract correspondence related to the assigned scope.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Participates in ITT development, bid evaluation, and contractor selection; identification & sourcing long lead equipment, assuring contractor support until equipment is assigned to the contractor
- Coordinates project issues resolution process
- Coordinates change requests and endorses change authorization
- Responsible for the completion of the assigned work scope consistent with the Project objectives
- Reviews contractor & vendor deliverables; verifies that processes are in place & procedures are followed; Ensure work follows accepted practices & conforms to Specifications
- Authorizes subcontracts and field changes within appropriate approval limits
- Identifies vulnerabilities and opportunities for improved performance
- Monitors contractor's performance and identifies any required corrective actions
- Leads the Contractor to identify and take corrective actions when required
- Escalates performance issues to Project Advisor when Contractor action is not forthcoming
- Verifies actions are taken and desired results are achieved
- Engages Project Team and other resources to verify that the design and construction is consistent with project specifications and standards
- Develops & administers Plans that anticipates required reviews, resolves known uncertainties and allows for additional resources to address unanticipated uncertainties
- Administers Key Issues and Project Issues for assigned work scope
- Oversees Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Surveillance Plans
- Administers Third Party Verification Program
- Coordinates external reviews and administers follow-up action plan
- Serves as interface between Project Team and Contractor
- Coordinates meetings between Contractor and Project Team; Reviews & endorses MOCs for designated project component & ensures implementation of change
- Prepares correspondence to contractor and submits to Project Advisor for approval
- Ensures smooth transitions between project stages
- Develops interface plan and coordinates interfaces
- Directs problem solving activities across project & coordinates external interfaces
- Participates in development of monthly progress reports and provides work status
Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE - BS degree in an engineering field
- 5-10 years of experience through multiple assignments in engineering, construction, and project management and controls activities, or comparable project-related experience
- Strong leadership, influencing, and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational, coordination, planning, and interface skills
- Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities
- Excellent communication skills and ability to read, write, and speak fluent English
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs, Lotus Notes, etc.
